After creating your account in the pepelwerk app, you may have noticed that you matched with a job profile that is listed as a “Trending Job”. This quick article explains exactly what a “Trending Job” is within the pepelwerk platform and what your options are, should you match with one.
What is a “Trending Job”?
Put simply, a job profile that is tagged as a “Trending Job” within the pepelwerk system is a job that is highly desirable in the US-based workforce right now. Using aggregate data from across the US, our team creates job profiles of roles that many companies are looking to fill right now.
Any job profile marked as a “Trending Job” in the system is NOT an actual role from one of our partner employers. It is a job profile that is designed to help you see examples of popular roles that may or may not be a good fit for you in the future.
What should I do with any profiles marked as “Trending Jobs” in my matches?
If you match with a “Trending Job,” that likely means that you are qualified to fill a role that requires similar attributes, attitudes, abilities or skills as those listed in the job profile.
There are two ways to approach this match:
- This is a role that you would like to have in the future.
-or-
- This is not a role that you would be interested in.
If this is a role that you would like to consider in the future, here are the steps to take:
- Mark that role as a “Goal Job” in your app (under the Work & Earn section).
- You may notice right away that there are certain skills or abilities that are marked in red, showing you that there is a skills gap. If that skill is something you would like to work on and improve, add it to your Learner Profile in the “Learn” section of the app to match with courses that correspond to that skill.
- If you would like to receive additional feedback on your fit for the role, swipe right to accept the job match. If you matched with a “Trending Job” you will have the opportunity to discuss your pepelwerk profile with a member of our Customer Success team. Please note: this is NOT the equivalent of a Career Coach or Mentor session. This will simply be a pre-screen interview to ensure that your profile is fully optimized to match with your goal job(s). If you want to receive career coaching or mentor consultation, please visit the “Guidance Center” portion of the app.
If you are not interested in this role, simply reject the match. No further action is required.
